Kia EV2: Seating and safety restraints / Child Restraint System (CRS)

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Seating and safety restraints / Child Restraint System (CRS)

Our recommendation: Children always in the rear

WARNING

Always properly restrain children in the vehicle. Children of all ages are significantly safer when riding in the rear seats of your Kia EV2. Never place a rearward-facing Child Restraint System on the front passenger seat unless the front passenger air bag has been completely and officially deactivated.

Children under age 13 should always ride in the rear seats and must always be properly restrained to minimise the risk of injury in an accident, sudden stop or sudden evasive manoeuvre.

According to extensive road safety and accident statistics, children are far safer when properly restrained in the rear seats than in the front seat. Children who have grown too large for a dedicated Child Restraint System must use the standard seat belts provided.

Most countries have strict legal regulations which require children to travel in approved Child Restraint Systems.

The laws governing the specific age, height, or weight restrictions at which standard seat belts can be used instead of a Child Restraint System differ among countries, so you should always be fully aware of the specific legal requirements in your home country and wherever you happen to be travelling.

Child Restraint Systems must be properly and securely installed in the vehicle seat. Always use a commercially available Child Restraint System that meets the rigorous legal requirements of your country.

Care of seat belts

Seat belt systems within your Kia EV2 should never be disassembled, altered, or modified under any circumstances. Take careful precautions to ensure that the seat belts and associated mounting hardware are never damaged, jammed, or compromised by sharp seat hinges, closing vehicle doors, or general misuse...

Using a Child Restraint System (CRS)

Infants and younger children must be restrained in an appropriate rearward-facing or forward-facing CRS that has first been properly secured to the seat of the vehicle...
