Kia EV2: Child Restraint System (CRS) / Installing a Child Restraint System (CRS)

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Seating and safety restraints / Child Restraint System (CRS) / Installing a Child Restraint System (CRS)

WARNING

Before installing your Child Restraint System inside your Kia EV2, always:

Read, understand, and carefully follow the precise instructions provided by the manufacturer of the Child Restraint System.

Failure to follow all safety warnings and installation instructions could dramatically increase the risk of SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH if an unexpected collision occurs.

WARNING

If the vehicle's adjustable headrest interferes with or prevents the proper, flush installation of a Child Restraint System, the headrest of the respective seating position must be readjusted or entirely removed until a secure fit is achieved.

After selecting an appropriate Child Restraint System for your child and verifying that the Child Restraint System fits snugly and correctly on the chosen seating position, there are three general steps required for a proper, secure installation:

  • Properly secure the Child Restraint System to the vehicle. All Child Restraint Systems must be securely anchored to the vehicle using either the lap belt, the lap portion of a lap/shoulder belt, the ISOFIX top tether, the ISOFIX low anchorages, or an approved support leg.

  • Make sure the Child Restraint System is firmly secured. After installing a Child Restraint System to your Kia EV2, firmly push and pull the seat forward and from side-to-side to verify that it is rigidly attached to the vehicle seat structure. A Child Restraint System secured with a seat belt should be installed as tightly as possible, though some minor side-to-side movement can be expected. When installing a Child Restraint System, adjust the vehicle seat and seatback (up and down, forward and rearward) so that your child fits comfortably within the Child Restraint System.

  • Secure the child in the Child Restraint System. Make sure the child is properly buckled and strapped into the Child Restraint System in strict accordance with the Child Restraint System manufacturer's instructions.

CAUTION

A Child Restraint System left inside a closed vehicle can become extremely hot when exposed to ambient sunlight. To prevent accidental skin burns, always check the seating surface, metallic buckles, and harness straps before placing your child into the Child Restraint System.
