(1) Parking/View button

To turn Surround View Monitor ON, press the Parking/View button (1).

Press the button again to turn Surround View Monitor OFF.

The advanced front-view function on your Kia EV2 assists with safe, precise driving and tight-space maneuvering by displaying real-time activity directly ahead of the vehicle on the central navigation system screen, tailored entirely to your preferred custom settings.

Parking

The Surround View Monitor’s front-view function automatically activates to guide you when you are parking under the following specific operational conditions:

  • When your Kia EV2 transmission gear is engaged in P (Park), N (Neutral), or D (Drive) at a low speed below 10 km/h (6 mph), and you manually press the physical Parking/View button (1).

  • When you transition the gear selector from R (Reverse) directly into N (Neutral) or D (Drive) while maintaining a vehicle speed below 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • When the Forward Parking Distance Warning system alerts you while the gear selector is actively set to D (Drive).

    *(Provided you have previously selected Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Parking Safety > Surround View Monitor Auto On on the central infotainment system screen).

You can effortlessly press the dedicated view switching button (2) on the Surround View Monitor interface to cycle through and select Top View, Front View, Side View, or Wide View.

The Surround View Monitor’s front-view function automatically turns OFF when you are parking under any of the following circumstances:

  • When you shift the transmission gear selector into P (Park) or R (Reverse).

  • When you press the physical Parking/View button (1) to toggle the cameras off.

  • When you press the designated back button (3) located on the Surround View Monitor screen interface.

  • When you press the primary infotainment system power button (4).

  • When your vehicle travel speed increases above 10 km/h (6 mph).

TIP

Whenever the Surround View Monitor Front View activates on your Kia EV2, it will conveniently display the last camera view mode you used.

Whilst Driving

The front view of the Surround View Monitor whilst driving turns on under the following condition:

  • When your Kia EV2 is operating in N (Neutral) or D (Drive) and your driving speed exceeds 10 km/h, press the physical Parking/View button (1).

You can seamlessly select either Front View or Wide View by pressing the dedicated view switch button (2) located directly on the Surround View Monitor screen.

The front view of the Surround View Monitor whilst driving turns off automatically under the following conditions:

  • Shifting the transmission gear into P (Park) or R (Reverse).

  • Pressing the physical Parking/View button (1).

  • Pressing the Back button (3) on the Surround View Monitor screen interface.

  • Pressing any infotainment system operation button (4).

NOTE

  • When the front view whilst driving is turned on, the system automatically restores and displays your last used camera view.

  • Once activated, the front view whilst driving remains fully active even if your Kia EV2 vehicle speed temporarily drops below 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • When the front view whilst driving mode is turned on, both the Front Top View and Front Side View features are temporarily disabled across all vehicle speeds.

The Surround View Monitor’s Rear-view function on your Kia EV2 assists you with safe parking by displaying live, crystal-clear activity behind the vehicle on the central navigation system screen, according to your selected configuration settings.

Parking

The Surround View Monitor’s Rear-view function activates automatically when you are parking under the following specific operational conditions:

  • You press the physical Parking/View button (1), then select Rear View using the view switching button (2) whilst your Kia EV2 gear is set to P (Park), N (Neutral), or D (Drive) with a vehicle speed below 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • You shift the transmission gear directly to R (Reverse).

Press the view switching button (2) on the Surround View Monitor screen to cycle through and select Top View, Front View, Side View, or Wide View.

The Surround View Monitor’s Rear-view function turns OFF when you are parking under the following conditions and the gear is set to P (Park), N (Neutral), or D (Drive):

  • You shift the transmission gear from N (Neutral) or D (Drive) into P (Park).

  • You press the physical Parking/View button (1).

  • You press the back button (3) located on the Surround View Monitor screen interface.

  • You press the infotainment system power button (4).

  • You drive above 10 km/h (6 mph).

The Surround View Monitor’s Rear-view function turns OFF when you shift the gear from R (Reverse) to P (Park).

TIP

  • The Rear View feed always displays automatically when you shift your Kia EV2 gear into R (Reverse).

  • When you shift the gear to R (Reverse), the active video feed does not turn OFF even if you press the infotainment system power button (4).

Whilst Driving

The rear view of the Surround View Monitor whilst driving turns on under the following condition:

  • When your Kia EV2 is in N (Neutral) or D (Drive) and the vehicle speed is over 10 km/h (6 mph), press the physical Parking/View button (1), then press the view switch button (2) to select Rear View.

You can select standard Rear View or Rear Wide View by pressing the view switch button (2) on the Surround View Monitor screen.

The rear view of the Surround View Monitor whilst driving turns off under the following conditions:

  • Shifting the transmission to P (Park).

  • Pressing the physical Parking/View button (1).

  • Pressing the Back button (3) on the Surround View Monitor screen interface.

  • Pressing an infotainment system operation button (4).

NOTE

  • When Rear View whilst driving is turned on, the system automatically restores and displays the last used view mode.

  • Rear parking guidelines are not displayed while using Rear View whilst driving.

  • Once activated on your Kia EV2, Rear View whilst driving remains active even if your vehicle speed temporarily drops below 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • When Rear View whilst driving is turned on, both Rear Top View and Rear Side View are disabled at all speeds.

The Surround View Monitor’s 3D View function on your Kia EV2 displays the vehicle from various immersive angles to enhance spatial awareness. To select a specific angle, press the 3D View icon on the Surround View Monitor touchscreen. To reset the perspective angle, press the 3D View icon again.

The Surround View Monitor’s 3D View function activates under the following conditions:

  • You shift the transmission gear to P (Park), N (Neutral), or D (Drive) at a speed below 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • You press the view switching button (2) to select 3D view whilst the gear is in R (Reverse) and the Surround View Monitor is operating.

The Surround View Monitor’s 3D View functions turns OFF when you are parking under the following conditions:

  • You shift the gear from N (Neutral) or D (Drive) into P (Park).

  • You press the physical Parking/View button (1).

  • You press the back button (3) on the Surround View Monitor screen.

  • You press the infotainment system power button (4).

  • You drive above 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • You shift the gear from R (Reverse) into P (Park).

When your Kia EV2 is in R (Reverse), the 3D view function of the Surround View Monitor will turn off under the following conditions:

  • Shifting the transmission to P (Park)

TIP

  • The 3D View mode does not display parking guide lines.

  • The Top View screen, which displays the Front View, Rear View, or 3D View, seamlessly stitches and converts original footage captured by your Kia EV2 four wide-view cameras to provide a comprehensive 360-degree overhead image.

  • Top View does not display when you select Front or Rear Wide View.

  • You can easily pinch the Top View screen area to zoom in or out.

    When the approaching vehicle is a long distance away, the image in the main mirror is small and near the inboard edge of the mirror. As the vehicle gets closer, the image in the main mirror gets larger and moves outboard. As the vehicle enters the blind zone, the image transitions from the main mirror to the blind spot mirror. When the vehicle is in the blind zone, the image only appears in the blind spot mirror.
