  • If you plan to store or leave your Kia EV2 unused for an extended period of time, make sure to charge the high voltage battery at least once every three months to prevent deep self-discharge. If the vehicle's battery charge drops to an insufficient level, immediately recharge it to full capacity before parking.

  • To preserve the long-term health and keep the high voltage battery in optimal operational condition, prioritize regular AC charging for routine daily use.

  • Maintain consistent high voltage battery performance and cell balancing by fully charging the pack whenever the state of charge drops below 20%, ensuring a full charge cycle is completed at least once a month.

  • The actual charging speed and behavior of the high voltage battery may vary dynamically based on external variables such as the technical state of the charging station, outside ambient temperature, and battery thermal status. As the battery approaches a full charge, current levels gradually taper down to ensure total safety and maximize battery longevity.

CAUTION

  • Always use a certified, designated charger designed for your vehicle when replenishing the high voltage battery of your Kia EV2. Connecting non-approved, substandard, or inappropriate chargers can severely impact and degrade your vehicle's electrical durability.

  • Leaving your Kia EV2 in an insufficiently charged state for a prolonged period can cause irreversible harm and permanently damage the high voltage battery cells. In severe cases of neglect, full battery pack replacement may be required depending on the extent of the damage.

Frequent and repeated heavy usage of the V2L function can also accelerate high voltage battery wear and decrease its overall lifespan.

High voltage battery warming system: (if equipped)

The intelligent high voltage battery warming system on your Kia EV2 actively prevents reduced power output and sluggish acceleration when driving in freezing or low-temperature environments. As soon as you connect the charging cable, the thermal warming system evaluates the internal battery temperature and operates automatically if needed. While total charging time during freezing weather may decrease compared to vehicles without this system, overall electricity consumption from the grid might increase temporarily due to the energy required to warm the battery pack.
