Regenerative braking

Regenerative braking converts vehicle kinetic energy back into electrical energy whenever the Kia EV2 is slowing down or braking, directly feeding power back to replenish the high-voltage battery. Decelerating applies reverse torque from the motor to generate both braking force and valuable electrical power.

Battery information

Your Kia EV2 electric vehicle is equipped with a high-capacity high-voltage battery that supplies primary power to the electric motor and the climate control air conditioning system. Furthermore, this high-voltage system intelligently charges a auxiliary 12V battery responsible for operating all onboard 12V electrical accessories and vehicle systems.

Whenever the Kia EV2 is placed in DRIVE READY mode or while the main high-voltage battery is actively being charged, the auxiliary 12V battery is automatically replenished.
