Kia EV2: Seats / Front seat headrest

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Seating and safety restraints / Seats / Front seat headrest

The driver’s and front passenger’s seats in your Kia EV2 are equipped with an ergonomically designed headrest for the occupant’s safety, support, and long-term travel comfort.

The headrest not only provides comfort for the driver and front passenger, but also helps protect the head and neck in the event of a collision.

To maximize effectiveness in case of accidents, the headrest should be adjusted so the middle of the headrest is level with the centre of gravity of an occupant’s head. Generally, the centre of gravity of most people’s heads is at the same height as the top of their eyes.

Adjust the headrest as close to your head as possible. For this reason, we do not recommend using a cushion that holds your body away from the seatback.

WARNING

Headrest removal/adjustment

  • Do not operate your Kia EV2 with the headrests removed. Headrests can provide critical neck and head support in a crash.

  • Do not adjust the headrest height whilst the vehicle is in motion. You may lose control of the vehicle.

CAUTION

Excessive pulling or pushing may damage the headrest.

    2. Lower the headrest smoothly to the desired height position.

    WARNING

To properly protect all vehicle occupants, always make sure the headrest locks securely into position after adjusting it.

    CAUTION

If you angle the seatback forward while the headrest and seat cushion are raised, the headrest may contact the sun visor or other upper interior parts of your Kia EV2.

Fine-tune the headrest position in your Kia EV2 by pulling it forward incrementally to one of three different locking positions to suit your seating posture.

To adjust the headrest as far back as its travel will allow, pull it all the way forward past the final notch to release the mechanism back to the rearmost resting position.

Always adjust the headrest so that it properly and comfortably supports both the head and neck during your drive.

Removing headrest

To safely remove the headrest for maintenance or configuration changes:

  1. Recline the seatback slightly using the manual recline lever or power switch to provide adequate clearance.
