The rear seats of your Kia EV2 are equipped with adjustable headrests in all designated seating positions to ensure optimal passenger safety and comfort.
|
|
The headrest not only provides enhanced comfort for rear passengers, but also helps protect the head and neck in the event of an unexpected collision.
To maximize protective effectiveness in case of accidents, the rear headrest should be adjusted so the middle of the cushion is level with the centre of gravity of the occupant’s head. Generally, the centre of gravity of most people’s heads rests at the same height as the top of their eyes.
Adjust the headrest as close to the passenger's head as possible. For this reason, we strongly discourage using aftermarket cushions that hold the body away from the seatback.
Adjusting the height up and down: (if equipped)
|
To raise the rear headrest, pull it upward to the desired position. To lower the headrest, press and hold the release button (1) located on the support stem and guide the headrest down to your preferred height.
Removal and reinstallation: (if equipped)
|
To remove the rear headrest, extend it upward as far as it can go, then press the release button (1) whilst pulling the unit completely out.
To reinstall the rear headrest, guide the steel poles into the mounting holes while pressing the release button (1). Then adjust the headrest to the appropriate height for passenger safety.
WARNING
To properly protect all vehicle occupants, make sure the rear headrest locks firmly in position after every adjustment.
CAUTION
|
For maximum protection in an accident, the headrest should be adjusted so the middle of the cushion is at the same height as the centre of gravity of an occupant's head. Generally, the centre of gravity of most people's head is similar to the height of the top of their eyes. Also, adjust the headrest as close to the head as possible. For this reason, the use of any cushion that holds the body away from the seatback is strictly discouraged.
Do not operate your Kia EV2 with the headrests removed or reversed, as severe injury to the occupants may occur in the event of an accident. Headrests provide vital protection against whiplash and neck injuries when properly adjusted.
Do not attempt to adjust the headrest position of the driver's seat whilst the vehicle is in motion on the road.
Make sure the headrest locks securely into position after adjusting it to properly protect vehicle occupants.
NEVER allow anyone to ride in a vehicle seat with the headrests removed.
Always verify that the headrest locks securely into position after reinstalling and adjusting it properly.
