Kia EV2: Seats / Rear seat adjustment

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Seating and safety restraints / Seats / Rear seat adjustment

Moving forward and backward (For 4 seats)

Always adjust your rear seating position before setting your Kia EV2 in motion. Make sure the seat is locked securely into place by trying to move it forward and backward without using the release lever. If the seat shifts position, it is not locked properly.

To move the four-seat configuration forward or backward:

  1. Pull the rear seat slide adjustment lever upward and hold it firmly.

  2. Slide the seat smoothly to your desired comfortable position.

  3. Release the lever and verify that the seat is locked securely in place.

Always adjust the seat before driving your Kia EV2, and make doubly sure the seat is locked securely by trying to move it forward and backward without using the lever. If the seat moves at all, it is not locked properly.

Seatback angle (For 4 seats)

Fine-tune the rear backrest posture to ensure optimal passenger comfort during long journeys.

WARNING

  • Fold the rear seatbacks down to securely carry long items and oversized luggage that the rear tailgate cannot accommodate. Never allow passengers to sit on top of the folded-down seatbacks whilst your Kia EV2 is moving on the road. This represents an improper and hazardous seating position where seat belts are entirely unavailable, which might result in serious injury or death in the event of an unexpected accident or sudden stop. Objects carried on the folded-down seatback should never extend above the top of the front seatbacks, as this could allow cargo to slide forward and cause severe injury or property damage during a sudden stop.

  • Do not fold the rear seats if passengers, pets, or loose luggage are currently occupying the rear seating area. Doing so might cause physical injury or damage to occupants, pets, or personal belongings.

  • Always secure your luggage properly to prevent items from being thrown violently around the vehicle cabin during a collision, which could cause injury to vehicle occupants. Do not place unsecured objects on the rear seats because they cannot be restrained properly and might strike front seat occupants during a sudden impact.

CAUTION

  • Do not allow your hands, fingers, or loose clothing to get caught in the mechanical seat hinges and sliding tracks whilst adjusting the seats of your Kia EV2.

  • When you fold the rear seatback down, make sure to tuck and insert the seat belt buckle neatly into the designated pocket located between the rear seatback and cushion. Doing so prevents the rigid buckle from being crushed or damaged by the folding rear seatback structure.

Folding the rear seat

The rear seatbacks of your Kia EV2 can be conveniently folded down to facilitate carrying long items or to significantly increase the overall luggage and cargo capacity of the vehicle.

WARNING

Folded Seatback

Do not sit on folded-down seatbacks. The purpose of the fold-down rear seatbacks in the Kia EV2 is to allow you to carry longer objects that could not otherwise be accommodated.

  • Never allow a passenger to sit on top of the folded-down seatback whilst the car is moving. This is not a proper seating position since the seat has important crash protection features and seat belts are not available in this seat configuration.

  • To reduce the risk of injury caused by sliding cargo within the passenger compartment of your Kia EV2, objects carried on the folded-down seatback should not extend higher than the top of the front seats.

  1. Insert the rear seat belt buckle in the pocket between the rear seatback and cushion, and insert the rear seat belt into the two holes located on both sides.

  2. Set the front seatback to the upright position and if necessary, slide the front seat forward.

  3. Lower the rear headrests to the lowest position.

  4. Pull on the seatback folding lever, then fold the seat toward the front of the vehicle.

  5. To use the rear seat, lift and pull the seatback backward and be careful not to locate the seat belt between the rear seat and vehicle body. Pull the seatback firmly until it clicks into place.

Make sure the seatback is locked in place. When you return the seatback to its upright position, always be sure it has locked into position by pushing on the top of the seatback.

  6. Return the rear seat belt to the proper position.

  7. When the seatback is completely installed, check the seatback folding lever again.

CAUTION

  • Avoid excessive force when unfolding the rear seat back.

WARNING

  • Never attempt to adjust whilst your Kia EV2 is moving or the rear seat is occupied as the seat may suddenly move and cause the passenger on the seat to be injured.

  • The purpose of the fold-down rear seatbacks is to allow you to carry longer objects that could not be accommodated in the cargo area. Never allow passengers to sit on top of the folded-down seatback whilst the vehicle is moving. This is not a proper seating position and no seat belts are available for use. This could result in serious injury or death in case of an accident or sudden stop. Objects carried on the folded-down seatback should not extend higher than the top of the front seatbacks. This could allow cargo to slide forward and cause injury or damage during sudden stops.

  • Do not fold the rear seats, if passengers, pets or luggage are in the rear seats. It may cause injury or damage to passengers, pets or luggage.

  • When you return the seatback to its upright position, hold the seatback and return it slowly. If the seatback is returned without holding it, the back of the seat could spring forward resulting in injury caused by being struck by the seatback.

  • Cargo should always be secured to prevent it from being thrown about the vehicle in a collision and causing injury to the vehicle occupants. Do not place objects in the rear seats, since they cannot be properly secured and may hit the front seat occupants in a collision.

  • Make sure that your Kia EV2 is in the OFF position, the reduction gear is in P (Park) or 1st, and the parking brake is securely applied whenever loading or unloading cargo. Failure to take these steps may allow the vehicle to move if the shift lever is inadvertently moved to another position.

  • Never attempt to adjust whilst the vehicle is moving or the rear seat is occupied as the seat may suddenly move and cause the passenger on the seat to be injured.
