In the event of an unexpected emergency while operating your Kia EV2, it is essential to remain calm, maintain full situational awareness, and carefully execute these critical safety steps:
If the vehicle stalls whilst driving
Reduce your vehicle speed gradually and smoothly, keeping the steering wheel steady to stay in a straight line.
Move cautiously and deliberately off the active roadway to a secure, designated safe place.
Turn your hazard warning lights on immediately to alert surrounding motorists of your stationary position.
Try to restart your vehicle power system. If your Kia EV2 fails to restart successfully, contact a professional workshop immediately. Kia recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer or certified service partner.
If the vehicle stalls at a crossroad or crossing
Quickly shift the transmission gear selector to N (Neutral).
Safely push the vehicle completely out of the intersection to a secure location away from oncoming traffic.
If you have a flat tyre whilst driving
Remove your foot gently from the accelerator pedal and allow your Kia EV2 to slow down naturally whilst driving straight ahead.
Do not engage the service brakes abruptly or attempt to swerve off the road immediately, as sudden steering inputs may cause a complete loss of vehicle control.
When the vehicle has naturally slowed down to a safe, manageable speed, apply the brakes carefully and guide it off the road surface.
Drive as far off the active road shoulder as possible and park exclusively on firm, level ground.
If you are travelling on a divided highway or expressway, never park your vehicle in the central median area situated between fast-moving traffic lanes.
Once the vehicle has come to a complete stop, turn your hazard warning lights on, firmly engage the electronic parking brake, and shift the gear selector to P (Park).
Have all vehicle occupants exit the cabin. Ensure that every passenger steps out exclusively on the side of the vehicle facing entirely away from oncoming traffic lanes.
When preparing to change a damaged tyre, strictly follow the comprehensive step-by-step instructions provided later in this manual section.
