Kia EV2: Highway Driving Assist operation / Highway Lane Change Assist: (if equipped)

• Whilst the Lane Change Assist function remains ON, Lane Following Assist will not cancel, even if you temporarily operate the turn signal indicator or hazard flashers.

• Lane Change Assist automatically turns OFF when you drive under certain conditions:

  • There is only 1 available driving lane.

  • Approaching road segments featuring an upcoming intersection or crosswalk.

  • Roadways lacking physical center separation structures, such as solid guardrails or concrete medians.

  • A pedestrian or cyclist is detected directly on the road ahead.

• When the driving speed drops to 25 km/h (15 mph) or below while the system is in an operable state, it automatically switches to standby.

• At low speeds (Europe: 30–80 km/h (20–40 mph); Australia: 30–60 km/h), the system shifts to standby if vehicles in the rear blind spots of both left and right adjacent lanes are not detected.

• If any potential collision risk is calculated, the system immediately switches to standby.

• The Lane Change Assist status reverts to standby if a risk of collision is identified.

• The exact graphical icons or color schemes may vary slightly depending on your specific instrument cluster specifications or theme configuration.

• The rendered lanes and surrounding objects visible in the digital cluster may occasionally differ from actual physical road conditions.

When Highway Lane Change Assist turns OFF, Steering Assist is temporarily suspended. Always exercise heightened caution while driving your Kia EV2.

• When you push the turn signal lever to position (1), Highway Lane Change Assist initiates. If you subsequently return the turn signal lever to the neutral position before crossing the lane line, the assistant cancels.

  Highway Lane Change Assist does not cancel after your vehicle crosses the lane line, but the function automatically concludes and the turn signal turns OFF once the lane change maneuver is fully completed.

• When you push the turn signal lever to position (2) and hold it for a designated duration, the green directional arrow appears. Highway Lane Change Assist will still proceed even if you release the turn signal lever back to its resting neutral position.

• While you are actively changing lanes, the turn signal indicator continues to blink automatically even if you release the stalk. The indicator turns OFF as soon as the lane change finishes.

• Highway Lane Change Assist is forcefully cancelled under any of these circumstances:

  • You turn Highway Driving Assist OFF.

  • You turn OFF or temporarily cancel Lane Following Assist or Smart Cruise Control.

  • The instrument cluster triggers a hands-off warning message.

  • You switch the vehicle hazard warning lights ON.

  • The instrument cluster displays a Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist or Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist warning alert.

  • Your Kia EV2 detects a potential collision risk in an adjacent lane, even in the absence of explicit FCA or BCA warnings.

  • The targeted destination lane comes to an end.

  • Your vehicle sensors lose detection of the target lane markings.

  • An electrical or mechanical fault affects the turn signal lights.

  • The function becomes OFF because it was disabled via the settings menu, the roadway transitions to a one-way path, an intersection or crosswalk approaches, a pedestrian or cyclist appears in the path, or you enter a road lacking physical dividers like a median or guardrail.

  • The driving speed falls to 25 km/h (15 mph) or below while the system is operable, causing it to transition to standby.

  • At low speeds (Europe: 30–80 km/h (20–40 mph); Australia: 30–60 km/h), if valid vehicles are not detected within the rear blind spots of adjacent left and right lanes.

  • A sudden collision risk is determined by vehicle sensors.

  • The lane along the direction of the intended change is no longer marked by a single dashed line.

  • Your vehicle detects an immediate risk of collision.

• If you manually cancel Highway Lane Change Assist mid-operation, your Kia EV2 may steer back toward the center of the original lane or suspend steering assist entirely depending on real-time dynamics. Always remain vigilant and monitor road conditions.

• Highway Lane Change Assist may experience reduced functionality or fail to operate normally on complex urban roads featuring pedestrians or cyclists near intersections and crosswalks.
