Kia EV2: Keys / Battery replacement

The electronic smart key relies on a long-lasting 3V lithium coin cell battery designed to deliver years of reliable power under normal daily driving conditions for your Kia EV2.

1. Carefully pry open the key battery housing cover using a thin, non-marring tool.

2. Remove the depleted cell and insert a fresh, high-quality replacement battery (CR2450). Pay close attention to orientation, making sure to align the positive and negative poles correctly.

   If the replacement battery is inserted with reversed polarity, it will rapidly discharge and render the smart key completely unusable.

3. Reassemble the key enclosure by snapping the components back together in the exact reverse order of removal.
