Whilst the Kia EV2 vehicle is ON, tap Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Driving Safety on the central infotainment system screen to customize and change the Lane Safety settings according to your preferences.
Lane Safety: When a potential lane departure is detected during your journey in the Kia EV2, the system seamlessly assists with steering inputs to help keep you safely centered in your lane. If an unindicated departure occurs, the system alerts you immediately with both an audible warning sound and a distinct steering wheel vibration. If you choose to deselect Lane Safety, the dedicated yellow indicator light (
) illuminates on the dashboard. Upon restarting your Kia EV2, the Lane Keeping Assist system and Lane Safety feature automatically re-engage by default. Please note that disabling Lane Safety removes active steering assistance from the vehicle, so always maintain full control and drive with caution.
WARNING
The Lane Keeping Assist system in the Kia EV2 does not actively center or control the steering wheel when you drive directly in the middle of the lane.
You should always maintain complete awareness of your surroundings and actively steer the vehicle if Lane Safety has been manually deselected.
Do not utilize Lane Keeping Assist when towing a trailer or another vehicle, or when installing any external equipment that might compromise sensor operation, alignment, or overall vehicle balance.
Towing heavy loads or mounting specialized carriers can reduce directional control stability in the Kia EV2; disable the function when necessary and exercise heightened caution.
Avoid using the system when towing or when auxiliary equipment is attached, as abnormal sensor performance may occur.
When connecting a trailer or carrier, correctly configure the dedicated menu settings if equipped. If configured manually or recognized automatically through genuine Kia parts accessories, driver assistance functions may experience operating limits. Refer to Driver assistance system limitations and maintain attentive driving habits.
TIP
Pressing the dedicated Lane Driving Assist button (
) turns OFF Lane Keeping Assist and deactivates Lane Safety entirely.
