Air bag warning labels are attached to alert the passengers to potential risks of the airbag system throughout the cabin of your Kia EV2.
Note that these government-mandated safety warnings focus heavily on the specific risks posed to children. We also want you to be fully aware of the critical safety risks that adult occupants are exposed to, which have been thoroughly described in previous sections of your Kia EV2 manual.
WARNING
Never place a rear-facing child restraint system in the front passenger seat of your Kia EV2, unless the passenger-side air bag has been explicitly and securely deactivated. An inflating passenger-side air bag could violently impact the rear-facing child restraint and cause fatal injuries to the child.
Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rearward-facing child safety restraint on any vehicle seat that is protected by an active air bag deployed directly in front of it.
Never put a child restraint system in the front passenger's seat of the Kia EV2. If the front passenger air bag deploys during a collision, it can generate massive deployment forces leading to serious or fatal injuries.
NEVER use a rearward-facing child restraint on a seat protected by an ACTIVE AIRBAG positioned directly in front of it. DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY to the CHILD can occur instantly upon impact.
When children are seated in the rear outboard seats of your Kia EV2 equipped with side and/or curtain airbags, be sure to install the child restraint system securely as far away from the door side as possible, locking the child restraint system firmly into position.
The high-speed inflation of side and/or curtain airbags could cause serious physical trauma, injury, or death to an infant or young child positioned too close to the trim.
NOTE
If equipped with rollover sensor
The airbags in your Kia EV2 inflate instantly in the event of a detected rollover event (if equipped with side air bags or curtain air bags) in order to help protect all vehicle occupants from catastrophic physical injury.
The side and/or the curtain air bag modules may deploy autonomously whenever the sophisticated vehicle rollover sensor detects driving dynamics indicative of an imminent rollover scenario.
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) care
The indicator light, on the instrument panel near the windshield, indicates the status of the system.
