Kia EV2: Overview / Air bag collision sensors

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Seating and safety restraints / Air bag - supplemental restraint system / Overview / Air bag collision sensors

Kia EV2 technical schematic showing layout locations of collision and airbag sensors throughout the vehicle body

The actual shape, mounting orientation, and precise physical position of these collision sensors may slightly differ depending on your specific Kia EV2 vehicle configuration and build specification.

  1. Front impact sensor

  2. Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module/rollover sensor

  3. Side pressure sensors (front door)

  4. Side impact sensor (B-pillar)

Air bag sensors

  • Do not physically strike, hit, or allow any heavy or sharp objects to impact the sensitive areas where the air bag modules or collision sensors are installed in your Kia EV2. Doing so may trigger unexpected or accidental air bag deployment, which could result in serious personal injury or fatal consequences.

  • If the precise installation location, alignment, or mounting angle of any airbag sensor is altered, modified, or disturbed in any way, the air bags may deploy prematurely when they should not, or alternatively fail to deploy during an actual collision. Never attempt to perform DIY maintenance, repairs, or modifications on or around the air bag sensors of your Kia EV2. Always have your vehicle thoroughly inspected by a professional workshop; Kia strongly recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.

  • Do not arbitrarily touch, adjust, or tamper with the front impact sensor. If the operating angle or mounting alignment of the sensor is compromised, the entire advanced air bag system may malfunction during critical driving conditions.

Altering sensor installation angles due to structural deformation of the front bumper, front end module, vehicle body frame, or front doors where side collision sensors are housed can cause severe operational problems. Always have your Kia EV2 inspected by a certified professional workshop, with Kia recommending visits to an authorised Kia dealer or service partner for guaranteed safety diagnostics.

Installing non-genuine aftermarket bumper guards, side steps, running boards, or replacing factory components such as bumpers and front door modules with uncertified parts may adversely affect your Kia EV2 collision response and air bag deployment performance.

Only authentic Kia Genuine bumper guards and replacement bumpers are factory-guaranteed for optimal safety quality and structural performance.
