Whilst the vehicle ignition is ON, tap Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Parking Safety directly on your central infotainment system screen to configure your preferences.
Backward Safety: This dedicated function warns you or assists you with automated braking whenever there is an elevated risk of collision with pedestrians or obstacles directly behind your Kia EV2.
TIP
When you restart your vehicle engine, the Backward Safety function remains selected and your customized Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist preferences are successfully retained.
WARNING
Do not use the automated driver assistance system when towing another vehicle or when heavy equipment that affects sensor operation or overall vehicle balance is installed, as it may fail to operate properly.
Towing an external trailer or installing a bulky carrier can reduce directional control stability. If necessary, disable the safety function and always drive your Kia EV2 with heightened caution.
Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist may not operate correctly when a trailer, cargo carrier, or other auxiliary equipment is attached, or when towing. Avoid utilizing the function under these conditions.
When connecting a trailer or carrier accessory, configure the dedicated trailer menu within your Kia EV2 interface (if equipped). If the driver manually adjusts settings or if a genuine accessory connection is automatically recognized, certain driver assistance functions may experience operational limitations. Please refer to Driver assistance system limitations and maintain attentive manual control at all times.

TIP
Your customized Warning Methods configurations may also automatically apply to the alert systems of other integrated driver assistance technologies across your Kia EV2.
