The specialized Lane-Change Oncoming functions for Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist built into the modern Kia EV2 are:

  • Collision Warning

  • Emergency Steering

Collision Warning

  1. Collision Warning

Collision Warning can alert you with Emergency steering warning light blinking (Blinking collision alert symbol for the Kia EV2 safety system), a warning message, an audible warning, and steering wheel vibration.

Collision Warning may be activated under the following conditions:

  • Your speed is approximately 40-145 km/h (25-90 mph).

  • The oncoming vehicle or motorcyclist speed is above approximately 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • The relative speed is below approximately 200 km/h (124 mph).

  • The direction of travel of your vehicle and the oncoming vehicle or motorcycle is opposite.

  • It is within a certain period of time after the vehicle is determined to have departed its lane.

  • The object enters the operating range of the Lane-Change Oncoming function.

  • Driving on a straight lane.

Emergency Steering

  1. Emergency Steering

Emergency Steering can alert you with Emergency Steering warning light blinking (Active emergency steering hazard warning icon in the Kia EV2), a warning message, an audible warning, and steering wheel vibration. The Steering assist activates to help mitigate or avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle or motorcyclist.

Emergency Steering may activate under following conditions:

  • Your driving speed is approximately 40-145 km/h (25-90 mph).

  • The oncoming vehicle or motorcyclist speed is above approximately 10 km/h (6 mph).

  • The relative speed is below approximately 200 km/h (124 mph).

  • The direction of travel of your vehicle and the oncoming vehicle or motorcycle is opposite.

  • It is within a certain period of time after the vehicle is determined to have departed its lane.

  • The object enters the operating range of the Lane-Change Oncoming function.

  • Driving on a straight lane.

  • Both lanes are detected.

  • There is no risk of a secondary collision.
