(A) V2L has ended. Battery level has reached the set value |
When the high-voltage battery's charge level drops and successfully reaches your pre-configured discharging limit, the Vehicle-to-Load system stops operating and a notification warning message is promptly displayed on the instrument cluster of your Kia EV2. If you wish to continue using external power, simply access the settings and adjust the discharging limit to a percentage lower than the current charge level of the high-voltage battery.

(A) V2L stopped due to excessive power use |
If a connected electronic device exceeds the maximum power capacity that the vehicle is engineered to supply, the V2L function immediately halts operation and displays an alert message on the instrument cluster. Always verify that the total power consumption of your connected appliances remains safely within the maximum output limits defined for your Kia EV2.
V2L conditions not met
|
(A) V2L conditions not met |
This alert message appears if power delivery via the V2L system is abruptly interrupted due to any of the following operational conditions:
The V2L connector switches to the OFF state.
The V2L connector experiences thermal overload or overheating.
The vehicle charging door is opened while the interior V2L power outlet is actively in use.
Ensure that all connections are secure and that there are no physical issues or faults with either the external V2L connector or the interior cabin power outlet of your Kia EV2.
WARNING
Never touch the electrical contacts of the V2L connector or the vehicle charging outlet directly with bare hands.
Do not insert metallic tools or conductive objects into the V2L connector slots or the vehicle charging port, as this dangerous action can cause severe electric shock.
Avoid touching the V2L connector, charging outlet, or power plugs with wet hands, which can create an extreme hazard of electric shock. Always handle V2L hardware with completely dry hands.
To eliminate any risk of fire or electric shock, carefully inspect the V2L connection interface, charging outlet, and power plugs for water droplets, accumulated dust, or other foreign contamination before activating the system on your Kia EV2.
Unauthorized modification or structural disassembly of the V2L connector significantly increases the risk of fire, severe electric shock, or personal injury.
Using the V2L system under the following compromised conditions can lead to accidents or injury:
If the V2L connector, charging outlet, power plug, or charging cable shows visible signs of physical damage, corrosion, or heavy rust.
If the physical connection is loose, unstable, or not fully secured.
Using V2L to power electronic equipment equipped with a damaged, frayed, or broken cord drastically heightens the risk of fire, electric shock, or bodily harm.
Operating high-draw electronic heating appliances such as electric irons, coffee makers, or portable toasters inside the vehicle cabin presents an immediate fire hazard and safety risk.
CAUTION
To prevent operational accidents and ensure maximum safety, thoroughly read and understand your vehicle manual before utilizing the Kia EV2 power capabilities.
Thermal overload protection will automatically block V2L discharging mode if temperatures rise too high. When blocked, inspect the connector and power plug for contamination, wear, or damage, and verify that your device draws under 16A. Normal operation can resume once components have cooled down sufficiently.
Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the V2L connector. Keep in mind that vehicle warranty coverage excludes any failures resulting from unauthorized modifications.
Protect the equipment by avoiding sharp impacts, drops, or physical blows to the V2L connector housing.
Never place heavy objects or equipment on top of the V2L connector.
Always disconnect and detach the V2L connector from your Kia EV2 immediately after finishing your power supply session.
When the high-voltage battery reaches your pre-set discharge limit, V2L will automatically shut down with an instrument cluster notification. Lower the limit if further power delivery is required.
When supplying power to multiple electronics simultaneously, strictly ensure the combined load stays within the rated vehicle capacity.
If connected devices exceed the maximum power capacity, V2L will stop automatically to protect the electrical system of your Kia EV2.
Certain sensitive electronic equipment may not function normally even if power draw is within limits, including devices requiring high initial startup surges, precise medical measuring tools, or items sensitive to inverter-generated AC power.
Do not connect continuous life-support medical equipment, as unexpected vehicle state changes could interrupt power supply.
Only connect certified electronic devices rated under 16A.
Fully unwind extension cords and use properly rated, compatible plugs equipped with a reliable ground connection to prevent malfunctions.
Avoid heavy home appliances such as washing machines, dryers, or air conditioning units.
Do not hang heavy items or tension loads on the active power cord.
Only use nationally certified multi-outlets or extension accessories when plugging in multiple items, following all manufacturer instructions.
Use weather-resistant or waterproof equipment and environments when operating outdoors, avoiding rain or high humidity.
Never operate external V2L equipment outdoors when there is an active risk of lightning storms.
Avoid daisy-chaining multiple portable multi-outlets together.
Never use coiled or twisted extension cords, as heat buildup can cause a fire.
Using the exterior V2L port also powers the interior outlets; unplug unused devices inside the cabin if necessary.
The motor compartment cooling fan may spin automatically during V2L use even when the vehicle is turned OFF. Keep hands clear of cooling fans.
NOTE
Plug the V2L connector into the charging port within 60 seconds of opening the cover. For theft prevention, the connector automatically locks into place and cannot be separated during active use.
Disable any scheduled cabin air conditioning configurations prior to using V2L, as overlapping climate routines may prevent the system from starting.
Turning the vehicle OFF while utilizing the interior V2L outlet will terminate the active discharging session.
If an electronic device fails to activate despite a green indicator light, unplug the power plug and reconnect it securely.
V2L discharging mode automatically disengages if you open the charging flap or plug in the connector. When using both interior and exterior outputs simultaneously, connect the interior V2L line first.
