Kia EV2: Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) / Effective use of TPMS

Each individual tyre on your Kia EV2, including the spare tyre if provided, should be thoroughly inspected on a monthly basis when cold and inflated precisely to the recommended inflation pressure specified by the manufacturer on the vehicle placard or tyre inflation pressure label.

Please note that the sophisticated TPMS on your Kia EV2 is never a substitute for routine, proper manual tyre maintenance. It remains the sole responsibility of the driver to regularly check and maintain correct tyre pressures, even if air loss has not yet reached the critical threshold required to trigger the automated TPMS low tyre pressure warning indicator light.

This exact warning sequence will repeat upon subsequent vehicle start-ups for as long as the underlying malfunction persists. While this malfunction indicator light remains active, the system may be temporarily unable to accurately detect or signal low tyre pressure conditions as originally intended. TPMS system malfunctions can occur due to various reasons, such as installing aftermarket replacement tyres or non-compatible replacement wheels that prevent the TPMS sensors from functioning properly.

Always inspect the TPMS malfunction telltale indicator carefully after replacing one or more tyres or wheels on your Kia EV2 to ensure that the newly fitted replacement components allow the monitoring system to continue functioning correctly.

• The specific low tyre pressure position indicator light stays lit without turning off under normal driving conditions.
