The child-protector rear door lock mechanism is built into your Kia EV2 to prevent children from accidentally opening the rear passenger doors from inside the cabin.
|
Using these rear door safety locks is strongly recommended whenever young children are traveling as passengers in your vehicle.
The child safety lock switches are located on the vertical locking edge of each rear door. When the safety lock is turned to the lock position (1), pulling the interior door handle will have no effect, and the door will remain securely closed.
To engage the child safety lock, insert a mechanical key or flathead screwdriver into the slot and turn it clockwise into the locked position.
To allow a rear door to be opened normally from the inside again, simply deactivate the child safety lock switch.
The exterior door handle will continue to operate normally even when the child safety lock is fully engaged.
WARNING
Rear door locks
If a child accidentally opens a rear door while your Kia EV2 is moving, they could fall out and suffer fatal or severe injuries. Always engage the rear door safety locks whenever children are riding in the back seat.
WARNING
Advanced driver safety assistance systems cannot detect every unexpected hazard or pedestrian approaching your vehicle exit path.
The driver and passengers bear full responsibility for exiting safely. Always thoroughly check your surroundings before opening any door on your Kia EV2.
