When charging the high voltage battery of your Kia EV2, the current charging status can be instantly checked from outside the vehicle by observing the dedicated LED indicator light.

Sky Blue

Continuously

The indicator light turns continuously when the charging door is open or when the vehicle is in standby mode.

Blink

The indicator light blinks when the charging connector is connected, and the vehicle is communicating with the charger.

Green

Continuously

The indicator light turns continuously when the charge level reaches target charge level.

Blink

The indicator light blinks whilst charging is in progress.

The indicator light blinks more slowly as the vehicle's charge level increases.

Orange

Continuously

The indicator light turns continuously when scheduled charging is set.

Red

Blink

The indicator light blinks if there is an issue preventing charging due to a problem with the vehicle or the charger.

Charging may not occur under the following circumstances:

  • When the gear selector is not securely in the P (Park) position.

  • If there is an unresolved issue with the vehicle's internal charging management system.

  • When the internal battery temperature of the vehicle is excessively high.

  • If the operational temperature of the external charger is excessively high or low.

  • When the voltage supply from the external charger is abnormally too high or too low.

  • If the external charger's cable plug is not properly and securely connected.

NOTE: To prevent driver glare in dark environments, the brightness of the charging status indicator may dim automatically at night compared to daytime operation.
