Air bags may intentionally not deploy in certain minor, low-speed collisions where inflation would not provide any meaningful safety benefit beyond the exceptional protection already guaranteed by the factory seat belts. |

Front air bags do not inflate during rear-end collisions because the physics of the impact forces occupants backward into their seats. In such rear-impact scenarios, deployed front air bags cannot provide any added safety benefit. |

Front air bags may not inflate during side-impact collisions because passengers naturally shift laterally toward the direction of the impact side. Thus, firing frontal air bags in pure side impacts would fail to enhance occupant protection. |

During an angled or oblique collision, the vector of impact force can drive occupants away from optimal deployment trajectories where air bags would be effective, causing the control sensors to withhold deployment. |

Just prior to a crash, drivers frequently apply heavy braking. Air bag inflation conditions
Adding equipment to or modifying your air bag-equipped vehicleIf equipped, there is a small convex mirror built into the upper and outer corner of the driver outside mirror. It can show objects that may be in the vehicle's blind zone.

When the approaching vehicle is a long distance away, the image in the main mirror is small and near the inboard edge of the mirror. As the vehicle gets closer, the image in the main mirror gets larger and moves outboard. As the vehicle enters the blind zone, the image transitions from the main mirror to the blind spot mirror. When the vehicle is in the blind zone, the image only appears in the blind spot mirror.
