If you lock the driver's door of your Kia EV2 using the mechanical key blade, only the driver's door will secure itself. Conversely, unlocking the driver's door with the mechanical key allows you to access and operate exclusively the driver's door entry point.
Gently press the front section of the exterior door handle to cause the rear section of the handle to pop outward for access.
Insert the mechanical key blade with the sharp edge facing downward toward the ground. Inserting the key in the opposite orientation can scratch or damage the surrounding panel surface.
Turn the key firmly in the designated direction to operate the internal lock cylinder mechanism.
Locking: Rotate the key clockwise
Unlocking: Rotate the key counter-clockwise
NOTE
When securing the vehicle with a mechanical key, keep in mind that only the driver's door locks or unlocks.
To lock all cabin doors simultaneously, use the central locking switch from inside the vehicle before exiting, open the car door using the interior handle, close it, and then lock the driver's door externally with the mechanical key.
Refer to the section covering operating door locks from inside the vehicle when you wish to secure all doors from the cabin.
Take care not to misplace or scratch the exterior door handle assembly during manual operations.
Avoid applying excessive force to the door or handle to prevent component damage.
