The welcome system on your Kia EV2 gracefully displays the exterior surroundings or illuminates the refined cabin interior whenever the driver approaches the vehicle or prepares to exit.

Door handle lamp

Navigate to Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Welcome Mirror/Light > On Door Unlock or On Driver Approach from the central infotainment system screen of your Kia EV2.

When all passenger doors and the tailgate are completely closed and securely locked, the exterior door handle lamps will illuminate for approximately 15 seconds whenever you initiate any of the following actions:

  • You press the door unlock button on your smart key.

  • You physically touch the capacitive sensor button on the exterior door handle.

  • You approach the Kia EV2 with the authenticated smart key in your possession.

Headlight escort function

Access Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Welcome Mirror/Light > On Door Unlock or On Driver Approach through the infotainment system interface.

The exterior headlights and taillights remain illuminated for approximately 5 minutes after you switch your Kia EV2 to the OFF position or power down the system. If you subsequently open and close the driver’s door, the headlights will automatically turn off after 15 seconds.

You can manually extinguish the headlights at any time by pressing the lock button on your smart key twice in quick succession or by turning the master light switch to the OFF position.

Interior light

When the DOOR OFF indicator light is disabled, and all cabin doors and the tailgate are securely locked and closed, the interior lighting will illuminate for 30 seconds if you perform any of the following smart key operations:

  • You press the door unlock button on your smart key.

  • You touch the proximity sensor on the exterior door handle of your Kia EV2.

If you press the door lock button on your smart key, the interior cabin lamps will turn off immediately.

Dynamic welcome light: (if equipped)

This sophisticated feature dynamically animates the exterior lighting sequence of your Kia EV2 for a predetermined duration when the driver unlocks the vehicle, significantly enhancing its modern aesthetic appeal.

Select Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Headlight time-out from the infotainment system screen.

The dynamic welcome light will activate automatically whenever the standard operational conditions for the headlight escort function are fully satisfied.

Dynamic escort light

This feature dynamically choreographs the exterior illumination of your Kia EV2 for a set period when the driver powers down the vehicle while the headlamps are active, providing an elevated visual signature.

Select Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Headlight time-out from the central infotainment system display.

The dynamic escort light sequence will trigger automatically when the core operational criteria of the headlight escort function are met.

Door welcome lamp: (if equipped)

The door welcome lamp function utilizes subtle ambient illumination to foster a natural, intuitive connection with your Kia EV2 from the moment you approach until the moment you complete your journey and exit.

  • Select Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Ambient Lighting from the infotainment system display of your Kia EV2.

  • When your authorized smart key or digital key is detected nearby, all doors will unlock automatically and the door welcome lamps will turn on.

    Once all doors are closed or your Kia EV2 is placed in the POWER ON position, the door welcome lamps will turn off.

  • When the vehicle is switched to the OFF position or any door is unlocked and opened, the door welcome lamps will deactivate.

    When all doors are locked using the smart key or digital key, the door welcome lamps will immediately turn off.
