Chevrolet Silverado: Instruments and Controls / Vehicle Messages
Warning
If the HUD image is too bright or too high in your field of view, it may
take you more time to see things you need to see when it is dark outside...
Messages displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC) indicate the status
of the vehicle or some action that may be needed to correct a condition...
Other information:
When the exterior lamp control is set to AUTO and it is dark enough outside,
the headlamps come on automatically.
There is a light sensor on top of the instrument panel. Do not cover the sensor,
otherwise the headlamps will come on when they are not needed...
If you believe that your vehicle has a defect which could cause a crash or could
cause injury or death, you should immediately inform the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA) in addition to notifying General Motors.
If NHTSA receives similar complaints, it may open an investigation, and if it
finds that a safety defect exists in a group of vehicles, it may order a recall
and remedy campaign...

Warning
Never leave a child, a helpless adult, or a pet alone in a vehicle, especially
with the windows closed in warm or hot weather. They can be overcome by the extreme
heat and suffer permanent injuries or even death from heat stroke.
