If your trailer is equipped with an integrated braking system, make sure that it strictly conforms to your state or regional regulatory requirements, and that it is properly installed and functioning correctly before hitting the road.
If your trailer weighs more than the maximum allowable limit specified for unbraked trailers, it must be equipped with its own dedicated braking system, and those brakes must be fully adequate for the load. Read and follow all manufacturer instructions regarding trailer brakes so that you can install, adjust, and maintain them properly.
Never attempt to tap directly into your Kia EV2 hydraulic or electronic brake system to operate trailer brakes.
NOTE
Trailer brakes
Do not use a trailer equipped with its own braking system unless you are absolutely certain that you have properly and safely integrated the brake controller and wiring setup. Configuring a trailer brake system for your Kia EV2 is not a task for amateurs. Always rely on an experienced, competent trailer service shop to perform this specialized work.
