Kia EV2: Lighting / Traffic change (For Europe)

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Driver adjustments / Lighting / Traffic change (For Europe)

The luminous intensity distribution emitted from standard low-beam headlights is asymmetrical by design. If you travel to a region or country with opposite traffic flow direction, this asymmetrical pattern can dazzle drivers of oncoming vehicles. To comply with ECE regulations and prevent blinding other motorists, various technical solutions are available, such as automatic system adjustments or specialized adhesive deflectors. Your Kia EV2 accommodates this requirement through an approved technical solution utilizing protective adhesive sheets applied directly to the headlight lenses.

To withstand severe thermal loads and environmental weather factors—including intense headlight heat, solar UV radiation, and moisture from rain—properly adhere the specialized film to your Kia EV2 headlights as illustrated below:

To attach the adhesive sheet, follow these steps:
  1. Thoroughly clean all foreign debris, dust, and oily residues from the exterior headlight lens surfaces. Ensure the application areas are completely clean and dry before proceeding.

  2. Prepare two precise adhesive sheets trimmed exactly to the required dimension specifications for your Kia EV2.

    • Length: 24 mm (0.9 inches)

    • Width: 46 mm (1.8 inches)

  3. Carefully apply and press the prepared adhesive sheets onto both headlight assemblies according to the reference guides.

CAUTION

Always use genuine, specified adhesive sheets designed for your vehicle. Utilizing unapproved or generic alternative materials may lead to premature detachment, thermal deformation, or permanent surface damage caused by continuous heat, ultraviolet exposure, or moisture.

    Blind Spot Mirrors

If equipped, there is a small convex mirror built into the upper and outer corner of the driver outside mirror. It can show objects that may be in the vehicle's blind zone.

    Actual Mirror View

When the approaching vehicle is a long distance away, the image in the main mirror is small and near the inboard edge of the mirror. As the vehicle gets closer, the image in the main mirror gets larger and moves outboard. As the vehicle enters the blind zone, the image transitions from the main mirror to the blind spot mirror. When the vehicle is in the blind zone, the image only appears in the blind spot mirror.
