Chevrolet Silverado: Service and Maintenance
Warning
If a floor mat is the wrong size or is not properly installed, it can interfere
with the pedals. Interference with the pedals can cause unintended acceleration
and/or increased stopping distance which can cause a crash and injury...
This maintenance section applies to vehicles with a gasoline engine. For diesel
engine vehicles, see "Maintenance Schedule" in the Duramax diesel supplement...
Other information:
Tires should be rotated every 12 000 km (7,500 mi). See Maintenance Schedule.
Tires are rotated to achieve a more uniform wear for all tires. The first rotation
is the most important.
Anytime unusual wear is noticed, rotate the tires as soon as possible, check
for proper tire inflation pressure, and check for damaged tires or wheels...
Driving habits can affect fuel mileage. Here are some driving tips to get the
best fuel economy possible:
Set the climate controls to the desired temperature after the engine is
started, or turn them off when not required.
Avoid fast starts and accelerate smoothly...
