Smart Cruise Control on your Kia EV2 operates under the following precise conditions:
The transmission gear selector is shifted into the D (Drive) position.
Your driving speed falls within the designated active operating range:
10–160 km/h (5–100 mph) when there is no vehicle detected directly ahead
0–160 km/h (0–100 mph) when following a leading vehicle
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) or the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is turned ON and fully operational.

The vehicle is stationary or traveling below 10 km/h (5 mph) while no preceding vehicle is detected.
The brake pedal is physically depressed while driving (excluding situations where the vehicle is fully stopped).
TIP
When your Kia EV2 is completely stopped behind another vehicle in traffic, you can activate Smart Cruise Control even while your foot remains firmly on the brake pedal.
Overtaking Acceleration Assist function
The Overtaking Acceleration Assist feature in your Kia EV2 activates when you engage the turn signal indicator toward the passing side (left for left-hand drive models, right for right-hand drive models) while Smart Cruise Control is active under these parameters:
Your current travel speed exceeds 60 km/h (40 mph).
A leading vehicle is detected directly in front of your Kia EV2.
Overtaking Acceleration Assist remains inactive under the following operational situations:
The vehicle hazard warning lights are switched ON.
You have decelerated your speed specifically to maintain a safe following distance from a slower vehicle ahead.
WARNING
When you activate the turn signal toward the passing lane while following another vehicle, your Kia EV2 may execute temporary acceleration. Always maintain complete vigilance regarding surrounding traffic and road conditions.
Regardless of regional traffic orientation, Overtaking Acceleration Assist functions automatically when prerequisite conditions are met. Always verify local traffic flow directions and roadway safety before initiating maneuvers abroad.
