You can easily set a specific speed limit on your Kia EV2 whenever you wish to restrict your maximum cruising velocity and avoid driving over a predetermined speed.
If you inadvertently press past the accelerator resistance point and drive over your preset speed limit, the Manual Speed Limit Assist system on your Kia EV2 will immediately activate—causing the set speed limit value to blink on the display while sounding a repeating audible chime—until you naturally back off and return the vehicle speed back within the legally configured limit.
|
Alternatively, push the (
) switch up or (
) switch down and hold it firmly. The set speed will incrementally increase or decrease to the nearest multiple of 10 km/h (5 mph) at first, and then continue adjusting smoothly by increments of 10 km/h (5 mph).
|
|
The active speed limit value will blink continuously and an audible chime will sound if you exceed this threshold until you bring the vehicle speed back down to your established limit.
|
TIP
When your foot is resting lightly on the accelerator pedal but not pushed beyond the built-in pressure point, your Kia EV2 will seamlessly maintain your established set speed.
The maximum selectable speed limit may vary slightly depending on your specific vehicle regional specifications and powertrain configuration. You cannot configure a set speed higher than your vehicle's engineering limits.
|
Press the (
) switch on your Kia EV2 steering wheel to temporarily pause the active speed limit restriction. The numerical set speed limit value turns OFF on the display, but the main Speed Limit (
) indicator remains illuminated in the background.
|
To resume Manual Speed Limit Assist on your Kia EV2 after a temporary pause, use the (
), (
), and (
) switches according to your preference:
If you push the (
) switch up or (
) switch down, your Kia EV2 will instantly adopt your current real-time driving speed as the new limit.
If you push the (
) switch, your vehicle will instantly restore and resume your previously stored preset speed limit.
|
Press the Driving Assist (
) button on your Kia EV2 to turn Manual Speed Limit Assist completely OFF. The Speed Limit (
) indicator will completely disappear from the screen.
WARNING
Take the following vital driving safety precautions when utilizing Manual Speed Limit Assist in your Kia EV2:
Always configure your vehicle speed limit at or below the legally posted roadway speed limit to maintain absolute compliance and safety.
To avoid inadvertently engaging or setting an unwanted speed limit while navigating, keep Manual Speed Limit Assist switched OFF when it is not actively required. Always double-check that the Speed Limit (
) indicator is fully extinguished.
Manual Speed Limit Assist is a convenience aid and can never replace attentive, defensive driving practices. You retain complete legal responsibility for operating your Kia EV2 safely, observing changing road environments, and reacting instantly to sudden traffic hazards.
