Chevrolet Silverado: Electrical System / Fuses and Circuit Breakers
The wiring circuits in the vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination
of fuses and circuit breakers. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused
by electrical problems.
Danger
Fuses and circuit breakers are marked with their ampere rating.
Do not exceed the specified amperage rating when replacing fuses and circuit
breakers. Use of an oversized fuse or circuit breaker can result in a vehicle fire.
You and others could be seriously injured or killed.
To check a fuse, look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band
is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure to replace a bad fuse with a new
one of the identical size and rating.
Fuses of the same amperage can be temporarily borrowed from another fuse location,
if a fuse goes out. Replace the fuse as soon as possible.
The vehicle has fuses to protect against an electrical system overload. Fuses
also protect power devices in the vehicle.
Replace a bad fuse with a new one of the identical size and rating...
If the vehicle has a diesel engine, see the Duramax diesel supplement.
The engine compartment fuse block is in the engine compartment, on the passenger
side of the vehicle for 1500 and driver side of vehicle for 2500/3500...
Other information:
If the vehicle has a diesel engine, see the Duramax diesel supplement.
An arrow on the fuel gauge indicates which side of the vehicle the fuel door
is on. See Fuel Gauge.
Warning
Fuel vapors and fuel fires burn violently and can cause injury or death...
Tires should be rotated every 12 000 km (7,500 mi). See Maintenance Schedule.
Tires are rotated to achieve a more uniform wear for all tires. The first rotation
is the most important.
Anytime unusual wear is noticed, rotate the tires as soon as possible, check
for proper tire inflation pressure, and check for damaged tires or wheels...
