Inattentive Driving Warning function

The foundational active safety function of the Driver Attention Warning suite on your Kia EV2 is the Taking a break feature.

The Inattentive Driving Warning indicator light ( ) blinks on the instrument cluster, a descriptive pop-up warning message appears, and a distinct chime sounds to suggest that you take a rest break whenever your evaluated attention level drops below acceptable safety standards.

Driver Attention Warning will not issue a break recommendation when your cumulative driving duration is shorter than 4 minutes, or before 4 minutes have elapsed since the function last suggested a break.
To clear and turn off the Inattentive Driving Warning prompt from your screen, simply press the steering wheel OK button.
The Taking a break monitoring function operates under the following active driving speed condition:
- Vehicle speed: 60 km/h (40 mph) or higher

Your overall driver attention score and fatigue level are continuously evaluated based on the following real-time parameters:

Your personal driving patterns, including dynamic steering micro-adjustments and acceleration or deceleration behavior
Environmental driving conditions, including total elapsed driving time without stopping

The evaluated driver attention level is completely reset under any of the following occurrences:

The driver's seat belt is unbuckled and the driver's door is opened and closed while the vehicle is stationary
The vehicle remains completely stopped for a continuous period of 10 minutes or longer
The vehicle's ignition power cycle is restarted

WARNING

For your personal safety and to maintain full concentration on traffic, always adjust your vehicle settings exclusively after parking your Kia EV2 in a secure, legal location.

CAUTION

Driver Attention Warning may occasionally suggest taking a break based on unique steering habits or driving styles, even if you do not personally feel fatigued.

Driver Attention Warning is intended as a supplemental assistance function and may occasionally fail to accurately detect your true level of inattentiveness.

If you experience physical fatigue or drowsiness, you should pull over and rest at a safe location immediately, even if the Driver Attention Warning system has not issued a recommendation.

The Inattentive Driving Warning function operates with limited capability while the advanced in-cabin camera driver monitoring warning is actively engaged.

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function


	Leading vehicle is driving away

When a stationary vehicle detected directly ahead of your Kia EV2 pulls away and departs from a stop, the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert system notifies you instantly by presenting a clear warning message on the instrument cluster accompanied by an audible alert chime.

WARNING

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert may fail to display a visual notification or emit an audible alert if another higher-priority vehicle safety warning message or sound is active simultaneously.

You remain entirely responsible for monitoring traffic conditions, driving safely, and maintaining full control of your vehicle at all times.

TIP

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert is designed as a supplemental driver aid and may not alert you every single time the vehicle ahead moves away from a standstill.

Always visually check the road ahead and surrounding traffic conditions yourself before resuming travel.

TIP

On-screen graphics, icons, and interface color palettes may appear differently depending on the specific instrument cluster configuration or selected display theme of your Kia EV2.
