Kia EV2: Appearance care / Washing

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Maintenance / Appearance care / Washing

To help protect your Kia EV2 finish from environmental rust, oxidation, and long-term deterioration, wash the vehicle thoroughly using lukewarm or cold water at least once a month.

If you frequently drive your Kia EV2 in rugged environments or off-road conditions, wash it immediately after each trip. Take special care to rinse away any accumulated road salt, corrosive dirt, abrasive mud, and other stubborn foreign materials. Always ensure that the dedicated drain holes located along the lower edges of the doors and rocker panels remain clear and clean to prevent trapped moisture.

Insects, road tar, sticky tree sap, aggressive bird droppings, industrial pollution, and similar chemical deposits can permanently etch and damage your Kia EV2 finish if they are not removed promptly.

Even prompt washing with plain water may not completely dissolve or lift all of these stubborn deposits. Always use a mild, pH-balanced soap specifically formulated and safe for modern automotive painted surfaces.

After you wash the Kia EV2, rinse the entire body thoroughly with clean lukewarm or cold water. Never allow soapy water or cleaning agents to dry under the sun on the painted finish.

Immediately after washing your Kia EV2, test the brakes while driving at a low speed to verify whether moisture has temporarily affected braking efficiency. If braking performance is impaired, carefully dry the system by engaging the brakes lightly while maintaining a safe, slow forward speed.

WARNING

After washing your Kia EV2, always test the braking response while driving slowly to confirm if water has affected the pads and rotors. If braking performance feels compromised, dry the brakes by applying gentle pedal pressure whilst maintaining a safe, controlled forward speed.

NOTE

  • Do not use strong alkaline soaps, harsh chemical detergents, or hot water, and never wash your Kia EV2 in direct sunlight or while the body panels are still warm to the touch.

  • Exercise caution when washing the side windows of your Kia EV2, especially when utilizing high-pressure washing equipment. High-pressure streams may force water past window seals and dampen the cabin interior.

  • To prevent chemical degradation or structural damage to exterior plastic parts and light lenses, avoid cleaning them with harsh chemical solvents or concentrated detergents.
