Chevrolet Silverado: Warning Lights, Gauges, and Indicators / Security Light

The security light should come on briefly as the engine is started. If it does
not come on, have the vehicle serviced by your dealer. If the system is working
normally, the indicator light turns off.
If the light stays on and the engine does not start, there could be a problem
with the theft-deterrent system. See Immobilizer Operation.
This light is near the fuel gauge and comes on briefly when the ignition is turned
on as a check to show it is working.

Other information:
If equipped, the FCA system may help to avoid or reduce the harm caused by front-end
crashes. When approaching a vehicle ahead too quickly, FCA provides a red flashing
alert on the windshield and rapidly beeps or pulses the driver seat. FCA also lights
an amber visual alert if following another vehicle much too closely...
Caution
Incorrectly towing a disabled vehicle may cause damage. The damage would
not be covered by the vehicle warranty. Do not lash or hook to suspension components.
Use the proper straps around the tires to secure the vehicle. Do not drag a locked
wheel/tire...
