Kia EV2: Door locks / Operating door locks from inside the vehicle

You can conveniently control the door locks from inside your Kia EV2 cabin using either the individual inner door handle mechanisms or the master central door lock switch.

With the door handle

• Front door

  Pulling the inner door handle once when the door is locked will automatically unlock and open the door.

• Rear door

  Pulling the inner door handle once when the rear door is locked will disengage the lock. Pulling the inner door handle a second time will swing the door open.

Door lock malfunction

If an electronic power door lock fails to respond while you are seated inside your Kia EV2, try one or more of the following emergency egress techniques:

• Operate the door unlock control repeatedly (using both electronic switches and manual levers) while simultaneously pulling firmly on the door handle.

• Attempt to operate alternative door locks and handles across both front and rear rows.

• Lower a front window manually and use the mechanical key to unlock the driver's door from the outside.

• Crawl through to the rear cargo area and open the tailgate manually.

WARNING

Never pull the inner door handle of any passenger door while the vehicle is moving.

With central door lock switch

Press the central door lock buttons on the driver's door panel to manage cabin security.

• To lock all vehicle doors simultaneously, press the central door lock button marked (3) on the driver's armrest.

• To unlock all vehicle doors, press the central door unlock button marked (2) on the driver's armrest.

When all vehicle doors are securely locked, the indicator lights (1) integrated into the front doors will turn off. If any individual door remains unlocked, its corresponding indicator light will stay illuminated.

If any passenger door or the tailgate is left open or ajar, the doors will refuse to lock even when the central door lock button is pressed.

CAUTION

Doors

• All doors should always be completely closed and securely locked while your Kia EV2 is in motion to prevent accidental opening. Locked doors also provide added security against potential intruders during city stops.

• Exercise caution when opening doors, and constantly check for oncoming vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, or pedestrians. Opening a door into the path of moving traffic can cause severe accidents and vehicle damage.

CAUTION

Unlocked vehicles

Leaving your Kia EV2 unlocked creates an unnecessary security risk where unauthorized individuals could enter. Always remove your keys, engage the parking brake, roll up all windows, and lock all doors whenever you leave your vehicle unattended.

WARNING

Unattended children, the elderly, or pets

An enclosed cabin can rapidly heat up in the sun, leading to fatal heatstroke or severe injury for unattended children, elderly passengers, or pets who cannot exit independently. Always take your passengers with you, ensure proper cabin ventilation, and never leave children or animals unattended inside your Kia EV2.
