Door, bonnet, tailgate, sunroof open

  • This warning is displayed on the instrument panel indicating precisely which door, the bonnet, the tailgate or the sunroof remains open before driving your Kia EV2.

Lights mode

This indicator clearly displays which exterior light setting is currently selected using the steering column lighting control in your Kia EV2.

Wiper mode

This indicator displays which specific wiper speed or interval mode is selected using the dedicated wiper control stalk.

Low washer fluid

  • The washer fluid level in the reservoir is nearly empty and needs to be refilled soon to ensure optimal windshield visibility during your journeys.

Icy road warning

  • The temperature on the outside temperature gauge has dropped below approximately 4 °C (40 °F), signalling potential road icing conditions.

Low key battery

  • The battery inside the smart key is flat and requires a prompt replacement to ensure reliable vehicle entry and starting functions.

Press START button whilst turning wheel

  • The steering wheel does not unlock normally when the EV button is pressed, requiring a gentle steering correction on your Kia EV2.

Steering wheel unlocked

  • The steering wheel does not lock when the EV button changes to the OFF position during parking procedures.

Check steering wheel lock system

  • The steering wheel does not lock normally when the EV button changes to the OFF position, indicating a potential system fault.

Check haptic steering wheel system

  • There is an operational problem detected with the haptic feedback system integrated into the steering wheel.

Key not in vehicle

  • The smart key is not detected inside the vehicle cabin when you attempt to press the EV button.

Key not detected

The smart key is not detected by the vehicle sensors when you press the EV button to power up.

Press start button again

  • The EV button cannot be operated normally due to a temporary glitch with the power activation system.

  • You can start the vehicle by pressing the EV button once more firmly.

  • If the warning message is displayed each time you press the EV button, have your vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.

Place smart key on emergency start position and press EV button.

  • The EV button is pressed whilst the "Key not detected" warning message is actively displayed on the dash.

Check driver assistance system.

A minor communication or sensor problem has been detected with the Driver Assistance system components.

Check BRAKE SWITCH fuse

  • The brake switch fuse is disconnected or blown, affecting pedal signal transmission.

  • You need to replace the fuse with a new one matching proper amperage before starting the vehicle.

  • If that is not immediately possible, you can start the vehicle by pressing the EV button for 10 seconds in the POWER ON or DRIVE READY position.

Refill coolant

The electronic cooling system coolant level is low and requires inspection and replenishment.

The steering wheel heater is off

Confirmation message displayed when you manually turn off the steering wheel heating function.

Charge immediately. Power limited

When the high-voltage battery temperature is extremely low in winter, battery temperature optimization is conducted to ensure safe and normal driving conditions.

The optimization time may vary depending on the exact battery temperature and current environmental charging conditions.

If the high voltage battery level and thermal state are too low, vehicle performance and power output may be limited. When this warning message is displayed, please charge the vehicle immediately at the nearest station.

NOTE
  • Some driving information stored in the trip computer resets if the 12V battery is disconnected.

  • If any of the following conditions occurs, accumulated mileage and days data may become incorrect.

    • The battery cable is disconnected.

    • The battery is completely discharged.

  • If a sunroof open warning is displayed in the cluster, standard Driving Information messages may be temporarily suppressed.

  • To set custom charging schedules and/or climate timer preferences, refer to the Navigation Quick Reference Guide.

  • If the icy road warning appears whilst driving your Kia EV2, you should drive with heightened attention, refraining from over-speeding, rapid acceleration, sudden braking, or sharp turning.
