Kia EV2: Lighting / Headlight delay function

Kia EV2 (QV1, 2026-2026) Owner's Manual / Driver adjustments / Lighting / Headlight delay function

If you set the vehicle to OFF or to POWER ON position with the headlamps active, the exterior headlamps and position lamps will remain illuminated for approximately 5 minutes to light your path around your Kia EV2.

When the vehicle is turned off and the driver’s door is opened and subsequently shut, the headlamps and position lamps will automatically turn off after a brief 15-second grace period.

You can instantly switch off the headlamps and position lamps by pressing the smart key’s lock button twice or rotating the light switch to the OFF or AUTO position. Keep in mind that the headlamps will remain active if you select the AUTO position when ambient lighting conditions are dark outside.

You can easily activate or deactivate the headlight delay function through the dedicated Settings menu on your Kia EV2 infotainment system screen. If your specific vehicle model is equipped with advanced navigation features, refer to the separate infotainment system manual.

TIP

If the driver exits the vehicle through any door other than the primary driver’s door, the intelligent battery saver function may not operate as expected, and the headlight delay function will not shut off automatically.

In such instances, the 12V vehicle battery may experience unnecessary discharge. To prevent battery drain, always ensure you turn the headlamps off manually using the headlight switch before exiting your Kia EV2.
