In poor weather or challenging road conditions, you should always drive your Kia EV2 even more carefully than usual to maintain total control.

Hazardous driving conditions

Rocking your vehicle

If it is necessary to rock your Kia EV2 to free it from deep snow, ice, sand, or mud, first turn the steering wheel right and left repeatedly to clear loose debris around your drive wheels. Then shift the gear selector back and forth between R (Reverse) and D (Drive).

Do not excessively spin the wheels. If you remain stuck after a few brief tries, have your vehicle towed out professionally to avoid overheating the power electric system and causing internal damage to the reduction gear.

Spinning tyres

Do not spin the wheels at high speeds, especially at speeds above 56 km/h (35 mph). Spinning wheels at high speeds while the vehicle remains stationary can cause extreme tyre overheating and catastrophic blowout. Furthermore, rapidly rotating wheels may detach or throw debris and injure bystanders.

TIP

Temporarily turn the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) function off before attempting to rock your vehicle out of deep snow or mud.

Smooth turning

Avoid heavy braking whilst cornering, especially when road surfaces are wet or slick. Ideally, you should always execute turns with gentle, progressive acceleration. Following these driving practices minimises unnecessary wear on your tyres and preserves vehicle stability.

Driving at night

Because nighttime driving presents unique hazards compared to daylight travel, follow these important safety tips in your Kia EV2:

• Slow down and keep a greater following distance between you and other motorists, as visibility is severely reduced at night, especially on unlit rural roads.

• Adjust your rear-view mirror to the night setting to minimize blinding glare from trailing vehicle headlights.

• Keep your headlamps clean and properly aimed if your vehicle is not equipped with automatic headlight leveling. Dirty or misaligned headlamps drastically reduce night visibility.

Driving in flooded areas

Highway driving

Tyres

Adjust your tyre inflation pressures precisely according to the vehicle specifications. Running on low tyre inflation pressures causes internal structural overheating and potential tyre failure on fast highways.

Never drive with severely worn, cracked, or damaged tyres, as this drastically reduces traction and safety.

Never exceed the maximum cold inflation pressure rating stamped on the tyre sidewall.

Underinflated or overinflated tyres
